Shilpgram

The word Shilpgram means "craft men's village". Shilpgram Museum is located 3 km away from Udaipur. It is a wonderful platform where rural and urban artists and craft men from different parts of India come to showcase and sell their beautiful handicrafts. Not only this it also provides an opportunity for them to share their skills and experiences. The participants are mainly from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Goa. You can get a glimpse of Rural Arts and Crafts and can even buy different kinds of handicrafts like hand woven clothes, embroideries and mirror works which are high in quality and durability. This rural art and craft village was inaugurated by Rajiv Gandhi. You can visit it from every December from 1st to 10th,from 9am to 7pm.Folk music and dance is also a part of this Shilpgram utsav. Workshops providing knowledge about art, craft and culture are one of the other attractions. There is a huge amphitheater in Shilpgram where theater artists take the center stage and the spectators are left spellbound.
