Maharana Pratap Memorial is a monument in Udaipur holding sheer historic importance. The monument is a statue of Maharana Pratap sitting on his favorite horse Chetak. It is built on the top of Moti Magri on the banks of the Fateh Sagar. Maharana Pratap was once the ruler of Mewar. He was crowned as the ruler in 1570 which marked the inception of Rajput era. He shared a great relationship with his horse. Even the horse was very faithful to him. People come here to pay tribute to Maharana Pratap and his brave horse who scarified his life for his master in the battle of Haldighati. In the close vicinity of this great monument are reminiscent of one of the oldest fort of Udaipur and a beautiful Japanese rock garden.
