Jag Mandir

Built in the middle of lake Pichola Island palace Jag Mandir is a marvel of architecture. Its foundation was laid by Maharana Karan Singh (1620-28) and later it was completed by Maharana Jagat Singh I. It was a great inspiration for Shah Jahan. During his stay there from 1623-24.(the emperor who made Taj Mahal). A row of elephants carved in marble seems as if are made to stand there to guard the island.
