Earlier it was named after the Viceroy of India,Lord Minto who laid its foundation stone in 1909. It is located near Fateh Prakash Hotel, in the City Palace Complex of Udaipur.

The royal weapons and courageous portraits of the erstwhile Maharajas of Mewar are conspicuous here. The huge Hall has the capacity of easily accommodating hundreds of people. The topmost floor of the hall used to serve as a site for royal ladies to view the gatherings happening in the lower ground. Perfect wood work, rare Mewar paintings, Rajput armament, brilliant glass lamps and aroma of flowers make the interiors beautiful and worth a visit.
