Gaumukh Temple

Gaumukh Temple

The term Gaumukh means 'mouth of cow' and the temple derived its name from nicely carved out marble cow present in the compound of the temple. A small stream flows from the mouth of a marble cow and bull.. The temple has a tank inside which is called Agni Kund. It is believed that yagna was performed by sage Vashistha in this kund. It is he who created it. Idols of Lord Rama and Krishna can also be seen here. It draws a lot of pilgrimages. Lord shiva's vejicle, bull Nandi, has also been given a marble form.
