Gangaur Festival

It is one of the festivals of Jaipur which entirely belongs to married women and unmarried girls. Idols of Issar and Gangaur, manifestations of Lord Shiv and goddess Parvati are worshiped by married women for long life of their husbands and happy married life and by spinsters for husbands like Lord Shiva. During the festival women adorn themselves in classy clothes and jewelry and come out together in the streets for colorful processions. This is widely celebrated in Rajasthan.
