Ana Sagar Lake

Ana Sagar Lake

The foundation of the Ana Sagar lake was laid by Anaji Chauhan in 12th century AD. River Luni was dammed in order to construct it. Added constructions by the rulers of the Mughal Period contributed a great deal in adding beauty to the lake. It is an artificial lake. Local people also played an important role in building the catchments here. Present on the bank of this lake is a lush-green garden the 'Daulat Bagh' whose credit goes to Jehangir. Inside the Bagh are a number of marbel pavilion, 'Baradari' being the acknowledged one. This contribution was made by Shah Jahan. Inside the parks you can enjoy the boat ride.
