Sariska National Park nestles in the Aravali ranges of Rajasthan. It lies in the Alwar district of the state. Once a shooting reserve but given the status of a wildlife sanctuary in 1958. It came under the 'Project Tiger' and was upgraded as a tiger reserve and a national park in 1979. This popular Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 788 square kilometres in total. The beautiful Siliserh Lake runs along the boundary of the sanctuary.

The main roads of sanctuary are open throughout the year. Entry to the jungle routes is restricted during the off-season period every year. The best time to explore the tiger reserve of India falls between November to June.

The landscape of Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary is dominated by a series of rising and falling hills. The land is covered by dry deciduous trees, such as Dhok, Ber, Khair, Surwal Tendu and Goria. Along with the change in the season, the landscape of the sanctuary is likely to change.

Sariska National Park is a natural habitat to a large population and wide variety of wild animals including Tigers, Wild Boars, Jackals, Hyenas, Leopards, Wild Dogs, Nilgai, Jungle Cats, Chital, Chausingha, Sambar and Langurs. The sanctuary also houses a significant population of Rhesus Monkeys.

Attractions peppered in the vicinity of the tiger reserve include The Neelkanth (Shiva) temples and the ancient Kankwari Fort. These add to the fascination of the area.
