The second largest city of Rajasthan was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha. Jodhpur sits on the edge of the Thar desert. The Mehrangarh Fort, built on a rocky hill, dominates the glorious history and increases manifold the architectural value of the city. The colourful markets here specialize in antiques.

The blue city is a major gem of Rajasthan. It is one amongst the leading centers of camel, wool, cattle and salt. A series of blue lagoon of houses can be seen from the massive Mehrangarh Fort.

The city is neighbored by Pakistan border and is one of the most important defense grounds of India. Being arid and dry during the summers, a lot of tourists throng in during the winter months.
