Located in the western part of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer is a poetry re-written on sandy desert. The amber-hued city experiences a typical desert climate. The golden ray of the setting sun evokes a magical picture on the golden sands of Jaisalmer.

The Jaisalmer Fort, built on the top of the triangular Trikuta Hills, is the major tourist attraction. The extravagantly carved fort houses a palace and several Jain temples. The Gadi Sagar Lake Near Jaisalmer was one time the primary water supply.

Apart from this, handicrafts including beautiful hand made embroidery, stonework, ornaments, antiques, woven jackets, camel leather items, puppets and joothies of the golden city are notable. Local colour and warmth lend a special charm to this city.
